I am not a big fan of news, nevertheless I don't mind watching a bit late night news on TV for a quick glance on what's on today. The disappointment is too many times the news is so boring and repetitive and foolish like "another breakdown of the Ngong Ping 360" and I can't help hitting the pillow instead. One day, news is no longer boring with the appearance of Emma Jones.
She is being the very few Caucasian female reporters in local chanels and in my opinion the most beautiful by all standards. She has all sense of taste and fashion which most of the others can only dream: timeless pageboy hairstyle, easy-listening English accent, always elegantly dressed, ornamented and groomed. Not to mention she is a blonde. She shows the style how business women should look like: formal yet stunning, sexy and confident, without dressing in complete stark, overly-clad and sexlessly styled. For those who don't have a clue or complaining having no time reading Vogue, look no further.
It's a pleasant way to wrap up the day with some news roundup everytime Emma's on.

Congrat to Daryna Shevchenko as Miss Asia 2006!
Never been interested in local beauty pageant, I watched ATV Miss Asia Pageant 2006 held in Macau earlier, only for one reason: my favourite, Daryna Shevchenko, a Caucasian candidate from Kazakhstan, was there.
Daryna, at 16 only yet she shows effortless grace, confident, and feminine. Not only in the event but also for the rest of the entire contest. Inner beauty can't fake and she has it all, something that the showboats or posers from China and local can't dream (Just see how tactful she reacted to a ruthless criticism from another Chinese contestant). The best part is, she's equally stunning in outlook, whether it's in her homeland traditional custume, swimsuit or Chinese qi pao.
She's clearly a winner, and the organizer, thought so. She was crowded the Miss Asia 2006, and won also titles as Miss Perfect Figure, and Miss Eloquence and Grace (she deserves every bit of it!).
Bravo to her victory as Miss Asia 2006 and also cheers to the organizer, ATV. For a time I can't even imagine a conversative local TV chanel would "risk" crowning a non-Chinese speaking, Caucasian darkhorse as top 3 winners in a beauty pageant of "Oriental beauties" history. ATV did the right thing breaking the rules and stereotype, in flying colours.

Preface
Preface to the blog with some introduction of myself.
To start with, I am a Chinese man who just reached my 30, born and raised in Hong Kong in a topically local Chinese family and educated by Hong Kong education system all my life, and never have a chance to study, travel or emigrate abroad in the West. In my jobs I don't have chances to work with foreigners nor travel abroad other than mainland China for business. You might think loser, if you do, trully you don't care to read on and so long.
Born and raised with my Chinese root and live in a Chinese dominating city, I am proud of being my childhood in the colonial era under the British rule, and somehow I got myself a native British accent which, might not equal that of British, native westerners, ABC or BBC, runs close to them and should above those Chinese who are proud of their lengthy study or stay in western countries. I am not a writer, but I literately write in English solely in worktime and pastime. Typing Chinese in icq? No way!
I didn't got high grades in English exans and never appreciate the spoonfed, Hongkong styled education, but I guess the prolonged exposure in U.S. and U.K. TV drams, programmes, and meanstream western culture, internet and media over the years do all the magic uplift to transform myself. It's me.
Stucked in the self-claimed international city of Hong Kong, I have been witnessing the total pathetic and hopeless situation of AMWF relationship. While so many WMAF couples around the town and their number has kept soaring throughout the years, the number of AMWF pairs has remained so low and virtually in inexistence.
I know the AMWF development has been tough in the West, let alone in Asian countries. In Hong Kong there is so little chance do we come across unmarried caucasian ladies in our workplace and social circles, as over 99,9% of the population are basically Chinese.
Caucasians, many of us refer as Expats, arrive in Hong Kong for business or have been assigned here for business establishment or as senior management. Needless to say these groups are among the most affluent class of the city, being successful in their career and family. For the male expats, many of them are open to marry the local Chinese there. Whereas for the female expats, most of them are married already before they come here, or only available themselves for expats when they want a relationship or family.
Most expats in Hong Kong live in premium districts such as the Peak, mid-levels, Island south or Discovery bay, and would prefer to hangout in leisure time with themselves in these districts or at SOHOs concentrated in Central districts. If you live in Hong Kong you might look into bars or premium restaurants in these areas, the only Chinese you see being the those male or female expats are Chinese women, not just for business many of these Chinese women are there for relationship, friends, peers, or themselves being the expats' wivies. Citrics may argue they have sighted Chinese men who are dinning with expats too, but one can easily tell mostly of the Chinese men dinning with expats are for pure business or straight friendship only, nothing more. Reasons? There are many, I'd be more specific in later posts.
So much torture being the AMWF dreamer minority in Hong Kong.
